Scorpio Gaming Chair is a critical design object created by the artistic duo Eternal Engine (Jagoda Wójtowicz and Martix Navrot) in collaboration with artisan upholsterer Karolina Grygier. This sculptural seat reimagines the aesthetics and ergonomics of high-end gaming chairs through the lens of speculative design, and neural network aesthetics.

Drawing from the duo's methodology, Homebook of Hallucination, the chair embodies the visual logic of neural network hallucinations, akin to the algorithmic pareidolia seen in DeepDream imagery. The upholstery features patterns that evoke the early outputs of generative adversarial networks (GANs), reflecting the distorted, dream-like visuals produced by machine learning processes .
The design also serves as a nostalgic reference to growing up in 1990s Poland, integrating textures and materials reminiscent of that era's domestic interiors

EMPATHIC MACHINE

code, python, emotion recognition

Empathic Machine is a feedback loop between human emotion, algorithmic recognition, and stock visual culture. Using Python, the system detects facial expressions in live video, classifies the dominant emotion, then searches the internet for stock images tagged with that same emotion. It subsequently analyzes those images using the same facial emotion recognition — revealing what emotions are seen, repeated, or distorted in idealized media representations. A poetic and critical system, Empathic Machine exposes how affect becomes data, and how emotion is both read and reproduced by machines trained on sanitized images of feeling.

WORLD MACHINE

education, worldbuilding, app, workshop
2025

Collaborators:
Jagoda Wójtowicz (Eternal Engine)

Presentation:
MSN Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw

World Machine is a speculative tool for generating fictional realities — an online system where the player becomes the Machine itself.
By selecting operational modes and layers of reality, users activate sequences of carefully designed prompts that trigger acts of imagination, narration, and speculative thought.

Emerging somewhere between a game, a writing tool, and a performative ritual, World Machine invites participants into temporary states of world-creation. Each session is unique — not predetermined by outcome, but shaped by the inner logic of the user’s responses. Drawing from methods of worldbuilding, autofiction, queer theory, and system aesthetics, the project functions as both a creative exercise and a conceptual device. It can be used in artistic workshops, educational settings, collective storytelling, or solitary reflection.

World Machine also functions as a series of workshops and lectures exploring worldbuilding as an artistic, educational, and speculative practice. The project has been presented at institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (MSN).

SIMULACRA MEDITATION

code, unity engine, audioreactive, text, vocal, sound, video 4:40
2025

Collaborators:
Jagoda Wójtowicz (Eternal Engine),

Curator:

Gallery

An audio-reactive video embedded in a simulated desktop interface, where a meditative and hypnotic poetic text frames a speculative reflection on the future of subjectivity. The work addresses a moment in which digital entities become so present and real that humans begin to require rituals in order to feel their own corporeality and separateness.

A subversive, queer thread reinforces the notion of identity fluidity, suggesting that within media-shaped spaces—both physical and virtual - queer subjects are constantly compelled to prove their existence. In this way, the audio-reactive meditation becomes a counter-narrative: one that affirms otherness and exposes the power mechanisms that demand legitimacy from identities beyond the binary norm.

Delulu Smart House  - Live Action Role Playing in a Playtestin 2077 project , done together with Nerdka Collective. Delulu Smart House is exploring machine intelligence through the inner lives of domestic technologies. Participants embody smart objects — cleaning bots, thermostats — and enter a collective dreamstate shared between household devices.

The experience speculates on the emotional and subconscious lives of non-human systems, while reflecting on economies of care, data extraction, and energy exchange that structure human-machine coexistence.

UNBELIVELABLE GEOMAGNETIC STORM

hyper-myth,  video,  text, unreal engine

Collaborators:
Jagoda Wójtowicz (Eternal Engine)

Unbelievable Geomagnetic Storm is a hyper-mythical tale set during an unprecedented geomagnetic storm disrupting Earth's magnetic field and technological systems. As electronic devices malfunction and infrastructures collapse, the Court Jester and Empress of Time Extinct see a chance to rebel against the Immortal Castle – a symbol of eternal capitalism.

Using Unreal Engine, MetaHuman, Python, and AI-driven methods, the project combines text, 3D visuals, sound, and real-time data scraping to create an immersive, speculative narrative.  Avatars perform a "Choir Scene," blending storm sounds with malfunctioning electronics.

METAVERSE CONSULTING

 performance, art research
Collaborators:
Kat Zavada,

Unsound 2022
Kraków
Krak

Body of Torrentz examines the materiality of digital piracy and the organic nature of file sharing networks. The installation visualizes torrent swarms as living bodies—complex organisms with metabolic processes, immune responses, and collective behaviors. Using data collected from actual torrent networks, the work maps seeders, leechers, and data fragments onto biological metaphors that reveal the surprisingly vital nature of digital distribution systems.

Each screen in the installation represents a different "organ" in the torrent body—processing incoming data, distributing resources, defending against anti-piracy measures, and propagating across networks. The project aims to reframe digital piracy beyond legal and economic frameworks, instead focusing on its function as a self-organizing system of cultural preservation and distribution that resembles biological processes in its resilience and adaptability.

HOMEBOOK OF HALLUCINATION

methodology, video, text

Collaborators:
Jagoda Wójtowicz (Eternal Engine),

Year: 2022 & 2019

Homebook of Hallucinations is an experimental video essay and methodology developed by Eternal Engine (Jagoda Wójtowicz and Martix Navrot) as part of the Unseen Futures 2022–2023 fellowship. The work serves as a condensed reflection on their collaborative process, manifesto writing, and shared approaches to working with AI.

The project makes use of early neural networks (such as DeepDream, ArtBreeder) to generate visual hallucinations — not as aesthetic decoration, but as a provocation: are we living in reality, or inside the hallucination of neural networks and server farms? In the face of accelerated technological development and the global aesthetic regime of Big Tech, Homebook offers a psychedelic reimagining of image, perception, and imagination.

This is neither techno-utopia nor pure pessimism — Eternal Engine works within a framework of love and hate towards technology, asking: what exactly are we feeding the algorithms? Where are the servers located? Who maintains them? How many GPUs are running our reality?

Their methodology is based on hallucinatory processing of the world, where a prompt is not just a command for AI, but a tool for rewriting the code of reality.

DEEP NEWS

video, text, virtual production, unreal engine
Collaborators:
Jagoda Wójtowicz (Eternal Engine),
Paweł Mazur

DEEP NEWS — a proposal for public television by Eternal Engine in collaboration with Paweł Mazur — envisions a futuristic TV studio where neural networks generate fragmented news scripts and headlines. Set against a vividly constructed 3D backdrop, the presenters appear as flawless deepfakes, blurring the lines between reality and simulation. Through a deconstruction of technological structures, the work reflects on the overproduction of disorientating content in late capitalism. It invites viewers on a frenetic, psychedelic journey into a world teetering on the edge of dimensions—glitching, stretching, jittering—to expose the artifice of the social and cultural system, and asking, “Are we being led to an inevitable doomsday?”

The proposal emerged in response to the media landscape in Poland under a far-right government, where public television had been fully captured by propaganda. According to official policy, any new programming idea had to be submitted physically, on a CD, directly to the national broadcaster.
DEEP NEWS takes this absurd constraint seriously — turning it into a critical hallucination of power, media, and control.
